The Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo) is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to foster global adoption of open geospatial technology by being an inclusive software foundation devoted to an open philosophy and participatory community driven development.

OSGeo is hosting organisation for FOSS4G conference and takes care of the global open source geospatial community.

During the workshop, we guide you through the ecosystem of OSGeo, introduce you to our e-mail communication platform, give you some hints, about how to write e-mail and how to pick the right mailing list. We also give a brief overview about our structure and basic who-is-who within OSGeo. After the workshop, you will be able to join the global geospatial community, collaborate with other people around the globe at the open source software for geospatial and help to grow our organisation.
